Clinical Director- Metro Treatment Program

The Department of Youth Services (DYS) is the juvenilejustice agency for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We work withyoung people who are detained or committed and provide detention, custody,diagnosis, education and support to young people ages 12-21. Most of the youthserved are between the ages 14 and 21. The Department promotes positive changefor the youth committed to our care, and has been on the forefront of de-institutionalization,in part, by providing adolescent-focused rehabilitation to youth in residentialtreatment.
The Department of Youth Services employs staff in variousprofessions and backgrounds in order to engage young people in strategies thatsupport positive youth development.
We are seeking energetic, positive and dynamic individualfor the role of Clinical Director (Clinical Social Worker D) at MetroTreatment Program, located at 450 Canterbury Street, Roslindale, MA 02131.
The incumbent of this position will work withadolescent/young adult males. He/she will provide clients with clinical socialwork services in order to promote and maintain maximum psychosocialfunctioning; function as integral members of multidisciplinary treatment teams;perform intake functions; organize and coordinate the provision of clinicalservices for a unit; perform diagnostic evaluations, develop and implementtreatment, rehabilitation, crisis, transfer, and/or discharge plans; prepareprofessional documentation; develop and evaluate programs; provide treatmentand psychotherapy to individuals or groups. Provide advocacy;supervise staff; provide consultation and education.
Ensure that the clinical profiles are up-to-date andaccurate for each youth in the program.
Update Regional Clinical Coordinator or clinical designee onyouth with mental health concerns, complex histories, and complex treatmentneeds. Lead/Co-lead and oversee therapy groups including: TheDialectical Behavioral Therapy groups (DBT), Substance Abuse Prevention,Substance Abuse Treatment, and Offender groups.
Provide/Oversee crisis interventions, individual therapy,and family therapy.
Oversee treatment planning.
Ensure that all clinical documentation is completed asrequired.
Refer youth for psychiatric consultation. Ensure that theDepartment's Psychotropic Medication Policy is followed and requireddocumentation is prepared and maintained.
Serve as a liaison with emergency mental health servicesnetwork for clients requiring screening for acute psychiatric hospitalization.
Provide data to Regional Clinical Coordinator or clinicaldesignee.
Participate in the program's management team and work withthe Program Director to identify staff needs and, in conjunction with theProgram Director and/or Regional Clinical Coordinator or clinical designee,design staff training programs.
As part of the unit management team, conduct reviews of thebehavioral management system and client advocate system and implement anynecessary changes or modifications.
Provide supervision to clinicians.
Participate in monthly Clinical Director meetings.
Meet with the Regional Clinical Coordinator and/or RegionalClinician on a regular basis.
Support family engagement/involvement.
Other duties as assigned by the Regional ClinicalCoordinator/Regional Clinician.
Provides Staff Training as needed; and performs otherrelated work as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with juvenile offenders.
Experience in residential settings.
Substance abuse assessment training and experience.
Experienced in Suicide Prevention/Intervention Strategies.
Knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) andCognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Strong clinical and organizational skills directly relatedto the functions of the Department of Youth Services.
Administrative supervision experience.
Clinical supervision experience.
Be able to provide licensure supervision.
Computer skills in MS Word, Outlook and MS Excel.
Considerable knowledge of State laws pertaining to juvenilelaws and juvenile rights.
Considerable knowledge of and experience in juvenile/adultcorrections.
Experience working as a member of an administrative team.
Clinical Psychology Licensure or LICSW licensure.
Experience working with adolescents and their families,expertise in crisis stabilization and management, and be trained in cognitivebehavioral therapy.
This is a Civil Service position.
Working Hours/week : 40.00
Shift: 1st
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Candidate must be flexible. Will be required towork one (1) late night per week (12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)and 4 hours per month on a weekend day.
Regular Schedule: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Transportation Requirement: Must have reliable transportation.

At least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master's degree in social work. Based on assignment to second-level supervisory positions, at least one year of experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
A Doctorate in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, or human services may be substituted for the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience.
No substitution will be permitted for the required supervisory experience. One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
A Master's or higher degree in social work is required.
Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work is required.
Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
