Member Services Representative

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Member Service Representatives interact with and serve our membership in all areas including withdrawals and deposits. This position plays a key role in the success of the Credit Union given the fact that MSRs are generally the first (and sometimes only) point of contact for our members. MSRs are expected to work as a team with management in order to obtain the Credit Union's strategic goals and objectives
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Serves members, in person, electronically, or by telephone, by determining the nature of the member's business and transacts the request or refers to the proper staff person
Provides deposit, withdrawal, loan payment, transfers and any other financial transactions requested by the member
Understands credit union products and services to provide information to the member
Resolves member issues with little to no guidance
Provides member support for Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Mobile Deposit and Shared Branching
Promotes and refers credit union products and services to members
Keeps up to date all savings and loan rates
Operates a cash drawer and balances it daily without error
Promotes interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork
Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
A minimum of 1 year cash handling experience
High School Diploma or GED. Some college courses or Associates Degree preferred
Strong retail or member service skills
Basic computer skills in a windows environment
Basic business math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentage)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. The employee must be able to sit for long periods of time and communicate orally, both over the phone and face-to-face, with members and vendors. The employee must be able to view a computer monitor and use an alpha-numeric keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
