When joining the Mapi HEOR & Strategic Market Access team, the evaluation of the clinical and economic value of treatments will be at the heart of your work. The team provides strategic consultancy and scientific expertise to support clients in Market Access Positioning and Health Technology Assessment. The team is a global multidisciplinary group of Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Mathematicians, Statisticians and Clinical Scientists.
Position: Because of the expansion of our Patient-Centered Outcomes (PCO) activities in the US, we wish to appoint a Director PCO to establish and lead a PCO team from our Boston office. This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, highly skilled and hands-on PCO leader with previous experience in an international consultancy, research institution or the pharmaceutical industry. We will provide you with the necessary opportunities and support for your professional development. Responsibilities: Your role will be exciting and varied; you will be involved in a range of responsibilities, including:
Providing high-level consultancy to our clients on obtaining labeling or promotional claims for COAs
Setting up, managing and coaching of the US PCO team
Providing scientific and strategic input to various types of PCO projects such as literature and strategic endpoint reviews, qualitative patient research projects, psychometric validation studies and regulatory submission dossiers, ensuring all project deliverables are met.
Acting as senior lead on PCO projects focusing on the development and validation of COAs to support label claims or other aspects of market access and publications
Contributing to different types of COAs including measures of symptoms, HRQL, treatment satisfaction, adherence and productivity.
Monitoring quality standards, financial targets and the allocation of resources
Preparing proposals and presentations to clients
Enhancing our scientific reputation and visibility in the field of PCO research
Requirements: You will have significant experience of designing, participating in, and ideally leading relevant projects in a healthcare consultancy, the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, or a research institution. Whilst appropriate experience and attitude are the key requirements, you will ideally hold relevant qualifications in health psychology or a related social science discipline, with preference being given to those with post-graduate qualifications. You have strategic insight on the importance of PCO research, an in-depth knowledge of qualitative research methods, an excellent understanding of clinical research and you appreciate the challenges of evaluating treatment benefits from a patient perspective. The ability to present, publicise and communicate your work is essential. You will enjoy working in a team and will have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
